CANASTA Collection B&B Italia |

Designer Patricia Urquiola. A linear sofa in two versions, with high and low backrest, an armchair with the same alternatives, a large circular armchair and a sunbed, make up the Canasta collection. Ideal for the swimming pool area or the garden lawn, these chairs are like pieces of “land art” that harmonize with the surrounding scenery. In Canasta B&B Italia’s most sophisticated technologies are fused with history and culture: an interweaving between the ancient and the modern. The exclusive workmanship of the fibres is performed in the Philippines, home of age-old tradition where skilled craftsmen have been practicing this art for generations. B&B Italia adds its unmistakable innovative mark to tradition by using a polyethylene fibre (30 mm width) in two different colours: white and bronze. The result is an innovative solution in the field of outdoor furnishings, with products that maintain the same quality, aesthetical and comfort standards of all the B&B Italia’s collections. |

Teak Collection Alias |

The chairs in the Teak ensemble are practical, stackable and with a lightweight aluminium frame, and use wood for the surfaces that design the seat and backrest: the teak lists hollow out in the lumbar support area and the seat, thus adding elasticity, ergonomics and comfort. The tables – rectangular and available in two sizes – are made up of structural components in aluminium and a top with characteristic teak lists. Resistant over time and pleasant to the touch, they are suitable for outdoor areas of gardens and add solidity and attention to detail to the Outdoor collections. |

Nemo Driade |
Fabio Novembre uses furniture design to tell intense and fascinating stories in which the protagonist is often the human figure (or parts of it). This human figure is capable of becoming abstract and universal, able to propose a mythicized beauty as occurred in Greek art where heroes (assuredly "dark and hairy") took on proportionate and divine features in sculptures. In 2008, Fabio Novembre brought a mysterious reclined lady to life on the Divina lounger, and so with this new piece it is with all the more reason that Fabio seems to state the possibility of "anthropomorphic design". In fact, in NEMO a face with classic features is hollowed out to create an inhabitable space. The result is a head-armchair to be lived from the inside. Like a mask, it simultaneously conceals and reveals its inhabitant. Tall enough to protect the person, and designed to be used outside and inside alike, NEMO has the power to turn any habitat into a theatrical scene. And whoever uses it becomes the protagonist in a story! |
