Eames Plastic Side Chair Vitra

Eames Plastic Side Chair is a contemporary version of the legendary Fiberglass Chair. It was produced in collaboration with Zenith Plastics for the Museum of Modern Art in New York's Low-Cost Furniture Design Competition and was the first industrially manufactured plastic chair. Since the 1950s the organically shaped seat shell of the Plastic Side Chair has been combined with various bases and produced in the millions. In the current polypropylene version the Side Chair provides even greater seating comfort. To complement the product line, Vitra is re-launching the fully-upholstered Plastic Armchair. The organically shaped upholstered shells are particularly comfortable and radiate a homely atmosphere. The Hopsak cover in 13 colours can be combined at will with the eight colours of the seat shell. Together with the base frames, this creates any number of individual possible combinations. The upholstery is fixed to the shell with black or white piping.

Febo Maxalto

The Febo family is completed by four elegant armchairs distinguished by backrests that can be low or high or more or less enveloping. These are available in a single material in fabric or leather with visible “blanket stitching”, with legs painted in a glossy chrome-plated or bronzed nickel finish or with a wooden base in a wide range of finishes: smoky oak, grey oak, brown oak and light brushed or black brushed oak.

Hola Cassina

367 Hola
Hola The back of the chair is the focus of this Wettstein design. Its elongated back forms two short comfortable arms. The upholstery covers the entire chair and is removable.

369 Hola
The chair is a variation on the Hola model, of which it retains the design and structure but with a slightly modified back. In fact, eliminating the curved ends of the back of the Hola means that the new chair has the same degree of comfort as the original model but at the same time is sufficiently reduced in bulk to fit under the table.

Montera Poltrona Frau

Light stitching that traces out a smile. Clean cuts that bring out the tactile quality of the hide and leather. After “Ginger” and “Fred”, a new project by Roberto Lazzeroni, for Poltrona Frau. The “Montera” chair. The common denominator in the designer’s work is the lightness of form and, above all, the sensory charm of leather. The internal part of the shell is covered in Pelle Frau® leather from the Color System. In elegant contrast the external surface is in Cuoio Saddle® Extra. Two different materials that enhance each other when sewed together with clean-cut edges. On the back of the seat the visible stitching traces a delicate motif and hides the zipper which, like an impeccable tailor-made suit, is used to close the cover. The seat is also available in a version completely covered in Pelle Frau® leather from the Color System. Shell in moulded curved beech plywood. Padding in polyurethane foam. Four-leg base in Wengéstained solid ash wood. The “Montera” is a perfect visual match for the new “Bolero” table, also by Roberto Lazzeroni.

Only since 1999 has it been possible to produce the chair in accordance with its original conception – out of durable, dyed-through plastic with a lustrous matte finish. The comfort of this chair results from the combination of a cantilever structure with an anthropomorphic shape and a slightly flexible material. It can be used individually or in groups and is suited for indoor and outdoor environments. The Panton Chair has received numerous international design awards and is represented in the collections of many prominent museums. Due to its expressive shape, it has become an icon of the twentieth century.

Aluminium Group Vitra

The Aluminium Chair is one of the greatest furniture designs of the twentieth century. Charles and Ray Eames originally designed it in 1958 for the private residence of an art collector in Columbus, Indiana (USA). For the construction of this chair, the designer couple abandoned the principle of the seat shell, instead stretching a panel of fabric or leather between two aluminium side members to create a taut but elastic seat. The chair adapts to the body of the sitter and is exceedingly comfortable, even without elaborate upholstery. The Aluminium Group includes several different models for use in homes, offices and public areas. Vitra has produced the Aluminium Group chairs over a period of decades in the same superior quality. This experience allows us to offer a 30-year guarantee on all of the chair models in the Aluminium Group.

The Masters chair was honoured with the prestigious “2010 Good Design Award” presented by the Chicago Athenaeum - Museum of Architecture and Design.
